LogoLink consists of regional networks in South Asia, South East Asia, Latin America, East Asia and the USA. In July 2004 FCR was selected by the Ford Foundation and the Institute of Development Studies (Sussex University, United Kingdom) as the host organisation for the LogoLink Southern Africa regional network. Since then, FCR has been engaged in a number of planning processes aimed at launching the LogoLink Southern Africa regional network.

Review of LogoLink Southern Africa activities in 2006/2007
Within the LogoLink Southern Africa network, significant progress was made during the year towards building and strengthening the network.  Some of the key activities in this regard were the following:

• A learning event was supported by LogoLink in the Sourthern Africa region with the theme of Advocacy for Good Governance.  The objectives were to create a platform for member organisations to gather and share insights on advocacy, to develop a shared understanding on advocacy amongst members and locate these (advocacy) areas of work within a common advocacy framework.
• An exploratory meeting with representatives from governance NGOs in the Southern Africa region was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 1 to 2 May 2006.  A major output included agreement by all that there is a need to expand LogoLink Southern Africa membership beyound borders of South Africa.
• A database of organisations in Southern Africa with a governance-focus and which may be potential members of the LogoLink Southern Africa network has been started and are maintained by FCR.
• A planning meeting was held in March 2007 in Cape Town and attended by five regional partners from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, Malawi.  the purpose was, amongst other matters, to discuss the way forward in terms of a regional conference on Participatory Local Governance planned for the beginning of 2008.
